Atlantis, Was It or Is It, a Spacecraft?
The Lost City of Atlantis
Ever since Plato made mention of a lost city of Atlantis, it has stirred the imaginations of man. I know that he makes mention of a continent as well as a city but for this article, I will assume that the continent was an exaggeration.
To any ancient civilization, one of our modern Ocean Liners, Tankers or Aircraft Carriers would be considered to be a city. A spacecraft, capable of inter stellar travel, could be as large or larger than these.
Scientists believe that there would have to be water present for life to exist on another planet. Scientists, also say, that life on Earth started in the sea. Given the size of the universe, I think it highly probable that intelligent life, does exist on other planets. However, we may be unique in so far as, we may be the only intelligent life that lives on land. Perhaps an alien planet does not have land or creatures did not evolve to live on land.
If the above were true, it would follow that any alien that aspired to space travel, would of built a spacecraft that launched from the seas. That being the case, it would probably of been designed to "land" on or in water.
Alien life forms, may not be drawn to our planet by our intelligence, or lack of, but more for our planets Oceans. To such an alien, the North Atlantic Ocean, would be as good a parking spot as any. From there they could have sent exploritory shuttles out to survey the surroundings. The Dogon people of Mali, in Africa, speak of their ancestors being visited by aliens. The aliens were said to be amphibian, and claimed to of come from a watery planet.
If such a spacecraft existed, its disappearance could easily be explained. It could of submerged to the bottom of the Ocean, where its inhabitants felt more at home, or it could of simply re-launched into space.
If the spacecraft was large enough, could its "landing" or re-launch, have had anything to do with the great flood, mentioned by many ancient civilizations as well as the Bible?
