Did a UFO end the Cold War?
Common Concerns
The Cold War
President Ronald Reagan and President Mikhail Gorbachev, had few views in common.
The one thing that they did however share was a belief in UFOs and Aliens.
The United States and the Soviet Union had been involved in what has been termed as a Cold War, ever since the aftermath of WW11.
It was a period that many thought had the potential to turn into the most destructive conflict witnessed on the planet. There seemed to be no mutual ground with which to start easing the tensions.
- Why the UFO Cover Up Now
In the UK in 1980, an investigation took place regarding a UFO sighting. Why is it only now, 30 years later, that the officer in charge of the investigation is speaking out?
The UFO
In 1974, during a flight to Bakersfield, California President Reagan reportedly saw a UFO.
It was the sighting of this UFO that prompted his speech in 1987 to the United Nations.
In his speech he said, he wondered how quickly countries could forget their differences and unite, to face a common enemy.
Later, in a speech directed directly at the Soviet Union, he elaborated further. He wondered how quickly the Soviet Union and the United States could combine forces to face a possible threat from aliens.
It is known that President Gorbachev believed that life existed in outer space and it is thought that he had often pondered on the possibility of an alien invasion.
Common ground had been found, in which to start easing the tensions.
Charlemagne in Saxony
History
So, the sighting of a UFO may have changed our history, by preventing what could have been the most dangerous war to life on Earth.
This however, is not the first time that a UFO has changed our history.
The Roman Empire had been divided in two.
Emperor Charlemagne was in Saxony preparing his troops for battle. As was Roman tradition, they marched under the banner of Jupiter.
Suddenly an object appeared in the clear sky. This object passed with such a great light, that it spooked his horse and it threw him to the ground.
This fall caused his belt buckle, an image of Jupiter, to snap.
Charlemagne ordered his men to make new banners under which to march. Under these new banners, Charlemagne re-united Rome.
Historians have concluded that this object seen could not have been a meteorite. A meteorite of such magnitude would have caused destruction somewhere in the vicinity, yet no evidence of such destruction has ever been found.
Is it a co-incidence that a UFO should appear to a man of importance at a time of significance?
Is it possible that we are being watched and assisted when necessary?
- UFO's-From Beneath the Ground?
In a backyard in New Jersey, a crater mysteriously appeared. It would appear that it was made by something coming out of the ground. Could it be that UFOs originate from under the ground? - Admiral Richard E Byrd and the Hollow Earth
